C'est la Vie! takes this expression literally... you are dealt cards representing events that could take place in your life or not... choose wisely. Played cards can add new ones to the deck, or remove some... play life as a deck-builder!

Maintain cosmic balance

You can't just have the good things, that would be unfair. You pay for good cards with cosmic credit (mastering the fork as a toddler for example!) but if you run out, you might have to play bad cards to earn some credits back (accepting acne as a teenager would do it!)

Overcome every life stage

You do not want to live a sub-par life. Pass each life stage by accomplishing great objectives while keeping your basic needs satisfied.

See yourself grow up!

With each life stage you'll get a brand new, custom, probably weird family photo. See how your character bears the marks of your choices!

A new life stage is not an easy accomplishment and deserves to be celebrated with the beauty of words delicately chosen to tell your own story.

Explore the weirdness of GenAI

One of our goals is to explore the uncanny aesthetic of generative AI frontally, not trying to hide it away. The familiar and mundane scenes of a life sim make this even more obvious, often funny, often cringe, sometimes touching. At the same time we're trying to make the pipeline the least evil as can be, we're using small, fine-tuned self-hosted models, but hey there's still work to do.

Make your own cards!

This is for advanced users but look for the /StreamingAssets folder. Each card is made from a trio of files:

- A JSON file (with the card logic)
- A BLAB file (with the narrative)
- A PNG file (the image!)

Edit them, add them... you could redo the whole game or reskin it! We'll make a tutorial for this at some point, write to us on the discord for tips.
